POSTER TYPE
One-Sheet
27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]
POSTER CONDITION & GRADING
Good to Very Good, linen backed. Prior to linen backing and restoration by Flicks Film Posters, the poster was in good condition. The poster had some tears in portions of the centre of the vertical foldline and there were creases and tears of varying lengths along the vertical foldline and around the edges, as well as a few areas of paper loss. It had staining at lower left and some smudges and scuff marks in a few areas. The poster was very well backed and after restoration to the defects described this rare poster now displays superbly!
DIRECTOR
ROBSON, Mark
POSTER TAGLINE & DESCRIPTION
"A graves dank darkness smothers the screams of a girl", "What evil force is loose that empties graves of those long dead…buries those still alive…leaves behind it death - and worse?" One of the series of fantastic low budget horror movies produced by Val Lewton at RKO during the 1940s (other prime examples are Cat People, I Walked with a Zombie, The Body Snatcher, and The Seventh Victim). This gorgeous one sheet is a very rare poster and features one of the best images of the great Boris Karloff seen on any poster.
