Racially and politically charged yet full of humour and humanity, the film's incendiary tensions are rocket-fuelled by Public Enemy's 'Fight the Power' and a clutch of great performances (Danny Aiello, John Turturro, Rosie Perez, Bill Nunn, Giancarlo Esposito, John Savage and Lee himself as seemingly mild-mannered Pizza delivery man Mookie). A great film.
